A young boy and girl have been killed and two others critically injured, after the vehicle they were travelling in crashed into a power pole on North St, Kempsey.
Police and emergency services were called to the accident at around 7.40pm last night (Thursday).
Four young people, two boys and two girls, where inside the Mazda sedan when it collided with the power pole.
Two backseat passengers, a 15-year-old boy and a young girl, whose identity is not yet confirmed, received fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The 16-year-old female driver was flown to John Hunter Hospital with critical head injuries.
A 14-year-old boy, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, was also flown to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
Police from Mid North Coast Local Area Command attended the scene and the Port Macquarie Crash Investigation Unit is conducting inquiries.
