CONSISTENT rainfall across the region has led to a wet start to February in the Macleay.
Kempsey has received 107mm of rain so far this month, and it is set to continue.
Tomorrow and Thursday should feature a return to the hot, sunny conditions experienced earlier in the year, but there is a high possibility of rain forecast for 15 of the remaining 19 days this month.
If Kempsey continues to receive heavy falls there is a possibility it could record similar levels of rain to those seen last February.
A mammoth 663.6mm of rain fell on the town last February - the second highest monthly rainfall for Kempsey since records first began in 1882.
It led to floods in Kempsey and across the region.
Interestingly, to the same time last year Kempsey had received just 1mm of rain in February.
The majority of rain fell over the space of six days between February 13 and 18.
Seven of the eight days this month have had falls in excess of 1mm.
The 24 hours to 9am on Sunday were the wettest with 37mm of rain recorded.
Sunday was also the wettest day at South West Rocks as 60mm of rain fell on Smoky Cape.
The Rocks, historically drier than Kempsey, has received 105.8mm of rain this month.
Just 0.4mm of rain was recorded to the same time in February 2009.
