Question mark over round as fields closes

03 Feb, 2012 08:31 AM
THE two-day matches scheduled to start tomorrow in the Macleay Valley Cricket competition could be changed into one-day games.

It is up in the air whether or not teams will be able to play tomorrow due to the recent heavy rainfall.

Kempsey Shire Council closed all of the shire’s sporting fields on Wednesday afternoon. Most grounds around the Macleay are water logged and it all depends how much more rain falls today if games will go ahead.

Association secretary Dave Hill advised all clubs and players to check the website early Saturday morning,

www.macleayvalleyca.ns w.cricket.com .au

The website will inform people if the round will go ahead and of any changes to venues.

The junior cricket competition was due to recommence on Saturday after a break during the holidays. Like the senior competition, it is uncertain whether the games will go aheads.

Parents and players are advised to regularly visit the website,

www.mvjca.nsw.cricket. com.au for any information about the weekend’s round.
