THE first grade match between Rovers and Kempsey Heights was over nice and early on Saturday.
And the amazing thing was a full game of cricket was played at the Athletics Oval, as rain did not interfere with the match.
Kempsey Heights fielded about 10 players and batted first. It was not long before they were out on the oval fielding as Rovers bowled them all out for only 28 runs.
Daniel Hutley was one of the main destroyers snaring five wickets. Nick Millar was not far behind taking four wickets. He was unlucky not to get a five-wicket haul, a feat he has yet to achieve.
Needless to say Rovers reached their total very quickly with the match finishing a bit after 2pm.
Rain did stop play in the round 13 match between comp leaders United All Blacks and Stuarts Point-Eungai.
All Blacks won the toss and elected to bat first on the Kempsey Golf Club pitch. They were 3-101 after 25 overs as a big storm hit and stopped play for the remainder of the day. The match was declared a draw.
Nulla won the other first grade match on the weekend against South West Rocks.
The match was played at South West Rocks Oval and the home side won the toss and elected to bat.
South West Rocks managed 9-135 after 35 overs.
Captain and opener Peter Atterton top scored with 27 runs. Next best was Grant Coleman with 23 runs.
Nulla bowler Andrew Watts finished with season best bowling figures of 3-31 off seven overs.
Blake Giddy was also handy with the ball snaring two wickets.
Nulla only lost four wickets in their run chase.
First drop Blake Giddy top scored with 40 runs, with Nick Ptolemy next best with 38. Todd Giddy also scored 29 runs.
Nulla reached their target with 10 overs remaining.
