THE Kempsey golf course was again in tip top condition for last Saturday’s 18-hole stableford event, which saw visitors from Crescent Head, Wauchope, Frederickton, Camden, Campbelltown and Lane Cove hit off with the local members from 7am on a very hot day for golf.
Showing the way despite the heat was Wayne Simmons in ‘C’ grade with a very good score of 43 points (16-27).
Tony (one shot now) Sciberras was the runner up with a round of 39 points.
With a par round and a score of 42 points Rick Nicholson was back in the winners circle in ‘A’ grade.
Playing early on Saturday saw Michael Dyet record a round of 37 points to be declared the runner up after a count back.
The ever consistent Charlie Hermiston was back collecting the winners prize in ‘B’ grade after a round of 39 points and just one point better than Chris Gorman who was playing in the last group of the day and got the runner up prize.
The winners of the Hot ‘n’ Tasty NTP’s at the third hole were Steve Bates ‘A’, Kevin (Bing) Lee ‘B’, Roger McAlister ‘C’, Noelene Sheridan ‘L’.
At the Eagles Boys 8th hole the winners were Rick Nicholson ‘A’, Jack Tolman ‘C’, Berly Taylor ‘L’.
The K and J meats winners at the 11th hole were Michael Dyet ‘A’, Paul Fleming ‘B’, Peter Callaghan ‘C’, Deb Gardiner ‘L’.
At the tough Chaddies 16th hole the winners were Doug Gregory ‘A’, Des Bevan ‘B’, Wendy Haigh ‘L’.
