THE 4 Shore Holiday Park 18-hole 2B Medley Stableford and individual event and also the qualifying round of the 2009 ‘Kempsey Vetrans’ four Ball Knock Out Competition was held at the Kempsey Golf Club last Saturday.
The event was played on a composite course due to the wet conditions.
A field of 62 players hit off and thanks goes to the green staff for having the course in the best condition possible.
The winners of the 4B even with a good round of 49 points was the pairing of Dennis O’Brien and Robert Dykes.
Next best, taking out the runner-up prize was the team of Terry Smith and Paul Fleming who played early on Saturday to record their round of 46 points.
In the individual event the winner with a really good round was O’Brien with a total of 45 points for the 18 holes.
The other balls winners in the ‘Boothies Ball Comp’ were Trevor Hannam, Allen Doyle, Rosemary Moore, Paul Hollis, Paul McNamara, Donna Farrer, Paul Brose, John Yabsley, Pater Seffensen, Ross Leopold and Steve Wallis.
The top 16 pairs who put the word ‘yes’ on top of their card to enter the 4Ball knock out were placed into a seeded draw on Saturday after golf.
The draw appearsbelow and is on the notice board at the club.
The first round matches must be played by Saturday, August 1.
Tomorrow Saturday, July 4, will see members and visitors contest the ninth round of the 2008-09 monthly medals as part of the Jim Shaw and Bob Preston 18-hole stroke and putting event.
On the scoreboard roster will be the team of Kevin Lee, Shane Willis and Tony May.
Don’t forget to book in now for the 2009 Commonwealth Financial Planning & Commisnsure ‘Kempsey Winter Cup to be held on Saturday, July 11.
This is the new day for this event after it was washed out back in June.
