AFTER being postponed for three weeks as a result of wet weather, the 2009 Wittitrin 200 Off Road Race is set to go ahead on the weekend of July 11 and 12.
“Heavy rain in the days leading up to the original date left the Kempsey Macleay Off Road Club with no option but to postpone” Club Publicity Officer Rod Thurgood said.
“Club officials have since inspected the track and its surrounds and its all systems go for racing next weekend.
“Hopefully we will get plenty of sunshine over the next week as some sections of the track are still very wet, although we do have contingency plans in place to ensure the event runs smoothly.
“The spectator viewing arena is looking first class, and with free admission both days it’s a great opportunity to bring the entire family out to see these spectacular machines in action.”
More than 40 of the States top racers will tackle the tough Wittitrin course that is located 20km west of Kempsey off Dungay Creek Rd.
