Golden girls pack their bags for New Zealand

THIRTY one members of the Kempsey Akubras Golden Oldies Netballers and supporters are in final planning to participate in the 13th Golden Oldies World Netball Festival to be held in Queenstown, New Zealand from November 1 to 8.

The group will leave on Saturday from Sydney.

After first joining the philosophy of Golden Oldies Sport in 1990 when one team took their first venture to New Zealand and joined thousands of others from all over the world at their first world Netball Festival, they have travelled to Singapore, Cook Islands (twice), Fiji, Hawaii, Adelaide, Gold Coast and Perth.

Two teams will be competing this year, They are the Kempsey Akubras “Downunders” and the Kempsey Akubras “Long Reach” and whilst there are no winners or losers, the members enjoy the competition.
