Knights to visit Smithtown Oval

10 Feb, 2012 07:54 AM
WAYNE Bennett and some of his Newcastle Knights players will visit Smithtown tomorrow.

The NRL super coach and elite players are in the area for a trial match against the Penrith Panthers tomorrow night.

The game will be played at Port Macquarie Regional Stadium. Bennett and the players have taken time out from their busy schedule to pay a visit to the Macleay.

Bennett and the players will be at Smithtown Oval from 10am on Saturday.

The Smithtown Tigers Junior Rugby League Club is excited about the special visit. They will also be taking players registrations on the day.

New players must bring their Medicare card and birth certificate. Players must have a parent or legal guardian attend with them.

Registration costs for the 2012 season include $80 per players from under 7s to under 16s. Discounts apply for players in the same family.

Registration includes socks and shorts on full payment.

The first match of the season will be played on April 21.
