Rangers big bash

28/11/2008 7:28:00 AM
MACLEAY Valley Rangers FC held its AGM to elect office bearers to the club’s committee for the 2009 season recently.

The meeting was well supported with members and parents representing many aspects of the club’s operations in attendance.

Among the issues discussed was the club’s 30th anniversary celebrations in 2009.

Amazingly there are still several original members still heavily involved with the club who were at the AGM. The club expects next season to be another wonderful year with a great many activities planned to celebrate the historic milestone.

These will culminate in a reunion dinner on the June long weekend, which is anticipated to attract former players, coaches, officials and supporters alike.

In addition many of Australia’s leading football personalities will also be invited to help celebrate.

All committee members that sought re-election were endorsed by those members present at the meeting.

Peter and Paula Barsby decided to call it a day and didn’t seek re-election and the club wishes them all the best and sincerely thanks them for the great contribution that they have made in recent years.

Paul Burnett was re-elected as president as was vice president Dusty Miller.

Larisa Sultana takes over as secretary from Jenny Lyttle who will co-ordinate the anniversary year activities.

Tony Corley remains the treasurer.

Wally Glover is the ground development co-ordinator.

Norm Borg will be organising the summer six-a-side competition.

Dean Riordan is the senior representative with Andrew Clarke the junior co-ordinator.

The non committee personnel are Yvonne Burnett as registrar, John Browne as coaching co-ordinator, Lynda Fuller looking after grants, James Burnett is the member protection person and Col Willis is the groundsman and wet weather co-ordinator.

The committee are looking forward to 2009 and delivering the best opportunities for the players, sponsors and community possible.
