The 27-year-old brother of organiser Pete Farley finished third in the main competition, having finished the knockout round in top place.
Rhys Angland, from Wagga Wagga, won the championship round of the Professional Bull Riding (PBR) event, with Gresford bullrider Cliff Richardson pipping the older Farley brother to second place.
Pete Farley, who organised and promoted the first PBR event to be staged at Kempsey was delighted with its success.
"The quality of riding was as good as anywhere in Australia," he said.
"There was good support from locals and from out of town and it's hard to say how many came through the gate, they were coming through that quickly."
The event is believed to have raised a four-figure some for the Westpac Helicopter Rescue Service.
The service transported the younger Farley to hospitals at Port Macquarie and Newcastle last year, after an accident at the family's farm at Aldavilla.
Pete staged the event to show his appreciation and all proceeds will go to the service.
"There was a lot of expense involved putting it on and getting all those top riders and bulls to the showground," he said.
"That was the first year of what we want to become an annual event for a charity.
"We'll know what we're in for.
"There were a lot of business Christmas parties happening, so we'll take that into account next time, but it's going to be a spring/summer event, lkely to be in December or January."
Older brother Jared rode two of the family's own bulls in the qualifying round, contested by 40 riders from across the eastern states, and including riders from New Zealand and the United States.
The top 10 riders then competed in the championship round.
"It was the luck of the draw that Jared had two of our bulls," Pete said.
"It didn't give him any advantage either, they're not any easier to ride."
He praised Angland's performances.
"He was in the middle of the pack after the first ride.
"His ride in the final was as good as you'll see anywhere."
Pete Farley was a teammate of Angland in the PBR World Cup in Brazil in 2009.
Bradie Gray, from Tamworth, won the junior event, with Brendon Crawley, of Singleton, second.
Stuart Timms won the champion bull team, with the best three top performing beasts owned by a contractor.
