Brian Beilby, 56, was reported missing by a family member who had not seen or heard from him since the previous day.
A coordinated search began on Tuesday with 10 police officers and 20 SES personnel combing the dense bushland in the immediate area around the property where Mr Beilby lives.
After no trace of Mr Beilby was found, the search was expanded to include the Police helicopter POLAIR, the bomb and rescue squad from Newcastle, trail bike police, water police and water rescue boats from the SES.
Mid North Coast Local Area Command duty officer Mick Aldridge said police were concerned for the man’s welfare.
“Based on our inquiries we have concerns about Mr Beilby because of his poor health,” Inspector Aldridge said.
“If anyone has any information about Mr Beilby’s whereabouts please contact Kempsey police.
“At the moment the search is continuing in full-swing but we will make a decision about how to proceed later today (Thursday) and go from there.”
