SOUTH West Rocks Golf Club will host its first PGA Pro-Am Series this week.

PGA professionals from throughout Australia and New Zealand will converge on the Mid North Coast for a series of four events, which make up part of the Choice Hotels PGA Pro-Am Series.

South West Rocks Golf Club’s head professional Shaun Piper is excited about the event.

“It’s great to get an event up and running here at the club, which will be in great condition for the professionals,” he said.

“South West Rocks is an ideal addition to the Mid North Coast circuit and adds some real value to the golfing community.”

South West Rocks kicks off the circuit on Thursday with players then heading to the annual Wauchope Pro-Am, which is contested over the weekend of April 26 and 27.

The weekend event will once again be a feature of the circuit before players head on to the Better Homes Port Macquarie Pro-Am.

The Better Homes Pro-Am has been a marquee event on the Australian Pro-Am circuit for several years. 2013 champion, Dimi Papadatos has continued on from his success at Port, just last month Papadatos captured the 2014 Michael Hill NZ Open.

US PGA tour winner and Australian golfing great, Craig Parry will add real depth to an already strong field at Port Macquarie and fans can expect some great scores on the classic tree-lined layout.

Kew Country Club will host the final event of the series on Thursday, May 1.

The Choice Hotels Series is contested across every corner of Australia and visits the South Pacific Islands of Samoa, Tahiti and Vanuatu also.

Local club golfers, sponsors and guests are given the unique opportunity to play alongside the PGA professionals in the pro-am format, providing one of the more personal experiences for golfers of all abilities.
