After a 54-6 mauling of the Port Breakers last weekend, the side again showcased the full potential of their attacking arsenal to run out comfortable victors.
It was the fourth consecutive win for the side who currently occupy second position on the ladder.
Coach Willy Lockwood said he couldn’t have asked for a better effort from his side on the day.
“We are really clicking as a team at the moment so it is important that we keep that momentum going,” he said.
“Our defence held up really well throughout the game and it was great to see guys like Adam McMurray back in the team.”
The Mustangs got off to flying start in the match, scoring at will early on in the game to hold a 30-0 lead at the break.
Their opponents eventually managed to get on the board with the opening try of the second half but it was to be their only score of the match as the mustangs ran riot at the other end to put the result beyond doubt.
Lockwood said the score line reflected a collaborative performance from his team.
“There was strong play across the board,” he said.
“We had the penalty count against us so hopefully we can fix that in our next game but other than that I don’t think there is a whole lot we need to improve on.”
There was a similar score in the reserve grade game with the Mustangs beating the Tigers 58-8.
The leaguetag ladies were forced work harder for their win, eventually overcoming their opponents 20-16 while the under 18s were not as lucky, losing 18-14.
The Mustangs have the bye this weekend before taking on the Wauchope Blues in round 14.
