Incorporating a total of 50 pieces which were spread around the site, the event also included musical entertainment from Melville High School students as well as a collection of stalls.
Curator Lela Green said there was no shortage of people coming through the gates on the day.
“There were 872 people who attended and we received some very positive feedback which is great,” she said.
“A lot of them commented on the high standard of sculptures in this year’s exhibition and said it was the best Sculpture in the Gaol in recent memory.
The winners will be announced on September 6, when the exhibition will close.
