The nature of the EOI has not been revealed, with the council now entering into a review of the plan before detailed discussions with the interested party.
An announcement about the type of activity proposed for the site will be made after these discussions.
The car park sale or lease plan was unusual in that it included the ‘airspace’ above the land and overhanging the surrounding footpath.
A community meeting organised by the car park working group from the Crescent Head Ratepayers and Residents Association will be held on September 18.
Council staff have been invited to discuss the proposal at the meeting.
Also on the agenda will be how the EOI fits into the community management plan for sustainable development at Crescent Head, released by the council in 2009.
Council Community Engagement director Kathy Oliver said the council could not release much detail about the EOI at this stage.
“The EOI period is now finished and the council has received one submission for the site,” she said.
“Staff will be undertaking a preliminary review of the proposal and we will seek to have discussions with the interested party to determine the best means to consult with the community on aspects of the proposal.”
The community consultation meeting will be held at the Crescent Head Community Hall on September 18 at 6.30pm.
