An all round contribution from Ben Taylor who topped the team in both the batting and the bowling stats, helped Nulla to a score of 128 with the All Blacks dismissed for 74 in reply.
Nulla captain Brody Clarke said there were some encouraging signs for his side in their first outing of the 2014/15 season.
“It was great to see a few of the younger guys in our side make contributions,” he said.
“Obviously Ben Taylor was the standout. He really helped turn the game in our favour.”
Batting first, Nulla’s innings got off to a shaky start as early wickets to Jarrad Ritchie and Leejo Jose saw them slump to 4-37.
Number five batsman Evan Clarke became the first to reach double figures, scoring 23 before being dismissed off the bowling of Dave Welsh.
The lower order made a significant contribution with number eight Ben Taylor (41) combining with number ten Matt McDonell (9) and then number 11 Mark Morrison to push the score past 120.
The wickets were evenly shared among the All Blacks bowlers with Dave Welsh leading the attack with 3-25 while Jose and Ritchie each bagged two wickets each.
Chasing 129 for victory, the All Blacks only had two players make it past double figures with Brett Russell and Welsh equal top scorers for the side with 17 apiece.
A brief storm interrupted play with Nulla able to gain momentum after the break to run out convincing winners.
Taylor backed up his run scoring with a similarly impressive performance with the ball, taking 4-12 off 4.2 over as the All Blacks were dismissed for 74 in the 22nd over.
All Blacks players TJ Smith paid tribute to Nulla and said he hopes the side can learn from the game.
“We were on track to bowl them out for under 100 but we took our foot off the throttle a bit and their batsmen made us pay,” he said.
“Their bowling was also very tight so they definitely deserved to win. Our side should be able to build on Saturday’s performance and come back stronger this week.”
