A total of 248 students from various schools in the area will sit the tests, which started with English on Monday.
The Kempsey Adventist School has 15 students undertaking the assessments.
Included in their preparation was a study camp at Yarrahapinni last week.
Not only did they have the opportunity to study one on one with tutors, but they also received tips on how to reduce stress and remain healthy throughout the exam period.
Year 12 student Alex said the study environment provided at the camp allowed a more regimented routine.
“The fact I was able to get in seven hours of study in a day was probably the best part of the camp,” he said.
“We also had the chance to do recreational activities which was fun.”
The Kempsey Adventist School students have plenty to look forward to after the exams are over with their formal held on November 10.
Following this, a group of them will fly out to Nepal to help teach at one of the local primary schools.
