Big and small rigs of all makes and models rumbled over the traffic bridge and along Belgrave St and Elbow St before returning and driving down Smith St, much to the delight of the spectators.
North Coast Social Trucking Club treasurer Peter Scott said it was a really good day even though the numbers were down.
“We had 89 trucks in the parade from Kenworth, Mac and Western Star prime movers and even a couple of old trucks,” Mr Scott said.
“The drivers were mostly local from companies based in Sydney, Grafton and Brisbane.”
The truck show is a fundraising event, with more than $500,000 presented to local charities over the history of the event. This year’s show and dinner event raised about $14,000.
“The auction and attendance to events raised $14,000 which will go towards local groups like the Rural Fire Brigade and SWR Naval Cadets,” Mr Scott said.
“The parade was attended by a lot of families with many going to watch the motorcycle racing at the speedway, but a huge attraction that managed to get a lot of the kids on board was the Shannons Super Rig.
“The Super Rig opens up leaving a huge footprint, 24m long, 8m wide and 8m high.
"It transforms into a Super Automotive Expo with a drivers simulator and Play Station consoles for not just the kids, but all motoring enthusiasts."
Cody O’Neil from O’Neil’s Haulage won the best prime mover and Mathew Buckley from Autosmart won the best rig.
