Supported by the NSW Government as part of the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, the Home Ground Cricket Tour will give local clubs across NSW a taste of World Cup excitement.
“I am delighted that the Home Ground Cricket Tour will take over South Kempsey Oval on Saturday 13 December 2014 to celebrate the sport of cricket and the role it plays in bringing people together across the whole of NSW,” Andrew Stoner said.
“I invite the entire community to get along to this wonderful event to enjoy a great family day out with fantastic activities and entertainment,” he said.
Minister for Regional Tourism John Barilaro said Kempsey is one of 27 locations across NSW to host the Home Ground Cricket Tour.
“This event will give people in Kempsey an opportunity to view key pieces from the world-famous Bradman Museum and to get involved with the sport by taking part in hands-on activities conducted by Cricket NSW,” Mr Barilaro said.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism and Major Events Troy Grant said there is no better time to be a cricket fan in NSW.
“I look forward to seeing people from across NSW getting along to their local cricket ground from December to February when the Home Ground Cricket Tour comes to town,” Mr Grant said.
"This tour to Regional NSW will encourage people to secure their tickets now for a trip to Australia’s home of cricket, the Sydney Cricket Ground, which will host five games including Australia versus Sri Lanka on Sunday 8 March, followed by a quarter and a semi-final,” Mr Grant said.
