Resuming at 3/164, Rovers cruised past its opponent’s total of 200 to go on and amass nearly 400 runs, declaring at 9/398.
A century to resuming batsman Ethan Dowling, as well as half-centuries to Danny Powick, Josh Colling and Nick Millar, contributed to the total, with Millar falling just one run short of a century.
The side was unable to procure an outright victory however, with Kempsey Heights finishing their second innings at 1/81.
Rovers captain Tim Smith said there were plenty of encouraging signs for his side.
“Obviously I was pretty happy with the batting of Ethan, Josh and Nick,” Smith said.
“As a team we will take a lot of confidence out of the way they performed and hopefully be able to continue that momentum against Nulla this week.”
Resuming batsman Danny Powick was the first to be dismissed on the day, caught off the bowling of Scott Witchard for 52.
It was left to Zeb Johnston and Ethan Dowling to guide Rovers past the Kempsey Heights total of 200, with Johnston dismissed soon after for four runs.
His wicket brought Josh Colling to crease and, after Dowling was also caught off the bowling of Witchard for 120, he combined with number eight Nick Millar for a 150-run stand to take the Rovers total past 300.
In what was a tough day for the Kemspey Heights bowlers, captain Scott Witchard was the best of the bunch, finishing with 5/91 off 15 overs.
