The Premier’s inability to attend, as promised, was no doubt a great disappointment to the committee and members of the Association, but they have risen to the occasion and are determined to prove the success of the show does not depend upon the accidental presence of a number of prominent Sydney politicians.
So far the entries have been coming in well, and there is every indication that the number of exhibits will far outnumber those of last year.
The absence of floods this season and the magnificent crops up and down the river have put new heart into the people, for at no time during the past seven years were the prospects in this district more encouraging.
Another gratifying feature is the manner in which the business people of Kempsey have responded to the appeal for special prizes.
Kempsey is benefited very considerably by the Show, and it is only right and just that those who reap portion of the harvest in increased business should do all they can to advance the best interests of the Association.
