It was the club’s young guns who lead from front to help the under 18 and senior teams to strong wins.
With the club still on the lookout for more senior players, a number of juniors ended up playing back to back matches, proving just as prolific against more experienced opposition.
Swans academy player Royce Close showed why he is one to watch for the future, booting eight goals for the under 18s in their 126-48 win before scoring a further five for the seniors.
Also impressive in both games was 15 year old Shaydan Close who has been selected for the National Indigenous squad.
Brett Russell was the leading goal kicker for the seniors with six majors.
Co coach said the senior side can only get stronger in the coming weeks.
“We had a few guys who were playing their first game of AFL and by the end they were making real progress,” he said.
“TJ Smith looked a veteran towards the end of the game which was great to see. I thought Beau Hawtin also made some strong contributions. I’m sure we will get more players along as the season moves forward.”
Next up for the Eagles is a match up against the Coffs Harbour Breakers at Fitzroy Oval on May 2.
