Wellington gave his occupation as a fisherman and was the son of Mr and Mrs George Cooper of Spencers Creek.
He was killed at the battle of Passchendaele on 9 October 1917.
His parents paid for a marble tablet to be erected in his honour in the old St James Anglican Church at South West Rocks.
