In what seems to be a recurring pattern for the side, the Marlins’ were contained by their opponents in the first 20 minutes only to pile on the points for the remainder of the game.
President, Geoff Ball, said the balance of the game changed significantly after half time.
“We really settled into a rhythm and took control of the match,” he said.
“The final margin came as a bit of a surprise because the first half had been pretty close and they had even held the lead at one stage. Full credit must go to the guys for their performance.”
An Owen Blair jnr double within the first ten minutes had the Marlins off to a flying start before consecutive Beechwood tries had them behind 12-10 at the 27th minute mark.
Order was restored by Rueben Dufty five minutes later as he crossed to steal back the lead for his side while a try to team mate, Tony Duncan, meant the home side went into the break with a 20-12 advantage.
There was no stopping the Marlins in the second as they set about taking their opponents out of the game.
Tries to Matt Knox, Joe Douglas, Aiden Davey, Wayne Sines, Blair Jnr as well as a double to Reece McPhillips helped the Marlins to a comprehensive victory.
Tony Duncan was named player of the match.
