On Wednesday afternoon officers from around the Mid North Coast Local Area Command converged on Port Macquarie for the LAC awards ceremony.
Senior Constable Tracy Watts was awarded the honour of Rotary Community Police Officer of the year for 2015 and said it was one of the most prestigious awards she had received.
"While we don't do our job for the recognition, it's the recognition of doing the best job I can go regardless of what job it is," she said.
"I've been in the force for 13 years and to not only be nominated by the community but to win the award is something I'm extremely proud of."
Colleagues described the senior constable as a dedicated frontline officer who personifies outstanding customer service and dedication to duty.
Sergeant Michael Walker of Laurieton police was awarded as the police officer of the year as judged by his peers and has been attached to the Command since 2002.
He was lost for words after the ceremony.
"I'm absolutely shocked; I believe there are other people more deserving than myself, but I'm really humbled," he said.
Kempsey Senior Constable Neil Haigh was awarded an additional award after the committee believed he was a widely admired and respected police officer.
Due to the overwhelming complimentary remarks concerning Senior Constable Haigh he was handed the Award of Excellence after spending 27 years at Kempsey.
"It's probably a bit embarrassing for me because you see the front line troops and what they deal with on a daily basis," he said.
"To have that level of respect and support from management is extremely flattering."
Superintendent Paul Fehon said it "was wonderful for our officers who are out there confronting often dangerous situations to be recognised for their efforts".
"They should all be extremely proud," he said.
