A TEENAGER will appear in Kempsey Children’s Court next week after he was arrested for breaking into an elderly resident’s home last night.

The 16-year-old allegedly smashed the back window of the Monash Ave house about 8.30pm while the elderly residents were watching TV.
The boy then allegedly entered the house through the window and stole a handbag before fleeing the scene.
Police were called and the police dog unit was able to track to scent of the teenager to the backyard of a house in Eric Kennedy St.
When police spoke to the owners of the house who let them inside, they allegedly found the teenager inside one of the bedrooms pretending to be asleep.
The youth was charged with break enter and steal and will appear in Kempsey Children’s Court on September 26.
