Full field for memorial bowls triples

A FULL capacity field of 42 teams will contest this year’s John Crotty Memorial Two-Bowl Triples, being staged at Kempsey Heights Bowling Club over the weekend.

Teams will travel from Sydney and the Gold Coast, as well from all along the Mid-North Coast.

This year’s tournament is the 13th running of this event and, with a full field, is testament to the popularity and respect the players have for the late John Crotty.

The event is by invitation only, which is totally organised by John’s wife Judy and his brother Pat, from Smithtown Butchery.

Judy’s family and friends also provide the morning teas, lunches and snacks, which organizers say have no equal among any other tournaments.

With five games of 18 ends over the two days and over $4000 in prizemoney, plus trophies, this is one of the prestige tournaments held at Kempsey Heights Bowling Club.

If you are looking for something special to do this weekend, call into the Heights and enjoy some great games of bowls.
