Resident Crystal Thurgood read out a poem she had written, before a red cedar tree was planted at the entrance to the building.
Cedar Place board member Narelle Moutlon said the centre has grown significantly over the years and is home to 66 residents.
“We’ve grown in response to community need and support and we still seem to be a preferred place for people to come to," she said.
