Macleay First XI manager Anthony Henry said the team has a mixture of young and experienced players and he expects them to be competitive on the weekend.
“One of the issues in the past has been the lack of players but this time around we have a number of players to choose from, which gave us a chance to create a balanced side,” Henry said.
“Obviously that does not guarantee us a win but it guarantees that we should be fairly competitive with experience.”
Coming from a game that was washed out against Hastings two weeks ago, Henry said as long as the team can compete for 50 overs, they should be in with a chance of taking home the bails.
“We have a young bloke who's been playing with the Rovers by the name of Zack Tyne who is new to the district,” Henry said.
“He is a left-arm quick bowler and is pretty consistent and we are excited about him making his debut for the Macleay Valley.
“The majority of the team is young but mixed up with the Giddy boys, Ben Taylor, Phil Dowling and Adam Clay I expect we will be fairly competitive on Sunday.”
