The Macleay Choristers and the Kempsey Silver Strings surprised some with the quality of their performances. Others have come to expect it.
All are now looking forward to the next event.
The program for the afternoon was an eclectic mix of pieces from Baroque to Broadway. These included London Trio No. 1 by Joseph Haydn, the well known Pachelbel’s Cannon, theme from New York, New York and I Still Call Australia Home.
The finale, a beautiful rendition of Angels’ Carol by John Rutter, was a combination of the voices and strings. This provided a suitable conclusion to the musical afternoon’s entertainment.
Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped with setting up the hall, looked after the audience, at the door and with seating, and to all those who provided the rapidly devoured nibbles after the performances.
Hope to see you next year, better still, why not consider joining the choir or Silver Strings?
