Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted armed robbery of a taxi driver in West Kempsey on Sunday morning.

A 67-year-old taxi driver attended Roscoe Turner Avenue, to pick up a passenger about 6.10am Sunday.
As the taxi stopped outside the front of a home, the driver heard the back window of the taxi smash.
A man then approached the driver’s door and threatened him with a shortened firearm, demanding cash.
The driver reversed away from the man, who smashed the windscreen with the butt of the firearm.
The taxi drove to Kempsey Police Station.
As inquiries continue, investigators are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that may assist are urged to contact Kempsey Police Station.
Police would like to speak to a man described as being between 165 and 175cm tall, thin build, wearing dark tracksuit pants and a black t-shirt.
