In what was a rough day for the Kempsey-Crescent Head crews, captain’ Mick Conomos said despite some roll-overs most of the crews had a successful day.
“There was 76 crews competing all up both with the Boat Series and the the Coffs Harbour Craft Carnival,” Conomos said.
“The Bs came third and the Wags came fourth in the final overall and the 160s won their final in the Boat Series but the 200s unfortunately didn’t make the finals,
“It was fairly testing conditions and the Chooks got wiped out with a big nose dive in out new boat the Moz with some minor injuries which ended their weekend. The new boat, the‘Moz,’ really got christened on the weekend.
“The As missed the final but finished sixth overall which was a good effort and the U19 got fourth overall in the final which was disappointing but they did win the Boat Series.
“The other new boat the ‘Ev,’ had success with the Wags and the U19 Men’s but the As got knocked out after a knock-over from a wave ended their campaign in the Craft Carnival.”
