TWO Kempsey men were refused bail yesterday after they appeared in court charged with firearms offences.

Police from Mid North Coast Local Area Command commenced an investigation after a number of shots were fired into a home on Francis Smith Place, South Kempsey, last Tuesday (2 February 2016).
As a result of their inquiries, a 23-year-old man was arrested after being stopped by police in a vehicle on Gowings Road, South Kempsey, about 9.40pm on Saturday night.
Shortly after, a 27-year-old man was arrested after police stopped another vehicle nearby.
Both men were taken to Kempsey Police Station and each charged with discharge firearm intend to cause grievous bodily harm, possess loaded firearm, fire firearm in a public place, carry firearm in manner likely to injure, and malicious damage.
The pair has been refused bail in court at Port Macquarie Bail Court on Sunday and are expected to face court in March.
Inquiries are continuing.
