The event was first held in 2013, and enjoyed a breakout year in 2014 - but for one reason or another, chiefly the unavailability of some key organisers, failed to get out of the blocks last year.
But in news that will delight the Valley community, Kempsey Shire Council announced this week that it’s all systems go for the celebration come Saturday, September 24.
The festival will be centred at the revamped Riverside Park, and it’s planned that this year’s gala will have more local content - much of it driven by the community.
“We had such a wonderful response to the festival in 2014,” community projects officer Olivia Parker said.
“However, its continued success will depend largely on community support.
“There are lots of ways you can be involved in the festival whether you take centre-stage, run a stall or create an art installation.
“It would be wonderful to see more activities on the river too, such as raft races or boat displays.”
