“This is a fantastic, once in a lifetime opportunity for our local students and one that we are very excited to be a part of,” principal Andrew Kuchling said.
After an introductory workshop day last October, 24 students will participate in the intensive workshop with circus trainers and dance and television star Ghenoa Geller of ‘Move It, Mob-Style’ fame. She will concentrate on hip-hop dance styles and using acrobatic tricks as part of choreography. Students will also have the chance to learn acro-balance, juggling and hula-hoop.
Kempsey Shire Council has partnered with Red Cross, Circus Oz, The Glasshouse Theatre and Kempsey South Public to deliver this exciting program.
“The Grade 5 and 6 students ... are so excited to continue this program,” council community project officer Annabel Lines said.
