Tommaya Kelly-Sines is off to Mackay in Queensland this weekend to compete in the 2016 Indoor Netball Supernational being held from April 30 to May 7.
She will play on the NSW opens squad – the Ohana Open Ladies Team – in the six a side as well as the seven a side divisions.
Tommaya currently plays for the Liverpool Bulls in the Division One competition in Sydney.
In 2015 she played for the NSW Under 21’s team in the Supernational’s where her team won going through undefeated.
Tommaya was later named in the Australian Under 21’s Supernational Indoor Netball team.
The young talent played in the local indoor netball competition at the Kempsey Indoor Centre before moving to Sydney.
Tommaya’s younger cousin Courtney Kelly-Scholes will be flying to Auckland, New Zealand to play in the International Schoolgirls Netball team from May 1 to May 6.
Courtney was successful in gaining selection in the Indigenous Schoolgirls Sports Australia (ISSA) team also known as the Budgies.
Courtney will be playing against teams from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Jamaica, Malaysia, Samoa and Fiji, she played in the ISSA team last year in Kuala Lumpur where the team came fourth.
Courtney was a regular in the Kempsey netball competition before moving to the Gold Coast with her sister Mattarley to attend Palm Beach Currumbin High School to be part of the school’s sports excellence program for netball.
The program is a training and coaching program, which suppplies mentoring, and education from experienced coaches.
