THE 35th South West Rocks Running Festival (formerly known as the Macleay River Marathon) takes place on Sunday June 12. The 2016 festival gets underway at 7am near the Trial Bay Gaol shelter shed with an event for all ages and competitive desires. Senior events are the 42.2km marathon, the 21.1km half marathon, a 10km run, and the 5km enticer. For the kids there are four junior events for ages 5-13 years, with all finishers receiving a medal. Online entries for seniors close at 5pm on Tuesday June 7. Registration is on June 11 between 2pm and 4pm at Trial Bay Gaol shelter shed with late entries also accepted during this time. Juniors may enter at senior registration on the Saturday or from 7am on Sunday race day up to 15 minutes before their event start time. q For entry details and event information, go to www.trialbaytri.com.au Volunteers to support this event are also sorely needed.
