Lewis Lennon won the 'fight of the night' for his bruising middleweight encounter with Kyle Penfold at the Wauchope Fight Night on June 11.

The fight, against sometime sparring partner Penfold was Lennon’s first competitive bout. Lennon described the lead up to the fight.
“I was a bit nervous but very excited as well,” he said.
“I’ve sparred with Kyle so I knew what to expect.”
Lennon is trained by his dad Gordon at the Kemp Street gym. Mr Lennon was impressed with his son’s tactics.
“For a fighter with so little experience he fought a great fight,” he said.
“He did what he had to do to counter his opponent with body punches to slow him down, I was really happy for him.
“Boxing is a great sport for young people, boys and girls for fitness and teaching you discipline and self belief.
“Once you have achieved something in boxing it can give you the confidence to do other things.”
