The business ceased trading today (Thursday June 30).
For the past five years, the kiosk has been operated by Kempsey Shire Council’s holiday park contract management company Burcher Nominees.
However, council’s manager of economic sustainability Susannah Smith said the company will not be renewing the lease.
Expressions of interest for the operation of the Crescent Head kiosk was advertised by council last year but Ms Smith said it failed to attract any “firm” offers.
“While we have received a number of inquiries from potential operators … none of these has translated into a firm offer, unfortunately,” she said.
Council are now investigating other long term uses for the Crescent Head site. Whether it will operate as a kiosk again is not yet known, though some minor works are planned at the facility.
Meanwhile, a five-year lease has been signed for the Horseshoe Bay kiosk.
