Holten and fellow Macleay Valley Eagle Shaydan Close are part of the elite Sydney Swans AFL academy and attend the Endeavour Sports High selective school in Caringbah.
He was rated as the best on ground earlier this month when the NSW/ ACT Rams under 16 side defeated the NT in the national junior competition.
“Things are going great with the Swans, and they are looking at getting myself and Shaydan into a better school next year,” he said.
“I’m still committed to football but if that doesn’t work out then having the best education I can get will help me get a good job.”
Holten rated a couple of stars of the AFL game as his inspirations.
“Nat Fyfe from Freo and definitely Gary Ablett Jr are my favourite players, Ablett is amazing,” he said.
