EVERY year Pathfinders Pumpkin Run travels to Sydney to deliver tonnes of pumpkins to those in need. The idea was born from Pathfinders Tilbuster Station working farm for young people where disadvantaged young people participate in a range of agricultural, horticultural and trade skills programs.

Last week they stopped in at the Kempsey PCYC to drop off their precious cargo. MNC Family Referral Service team leader Anita Hartley said the run had a serous purpose.
“It says that we can all make a difference and something as common as the humble pumpkin can provide a hot meal and some comfort to the homeless or someone who needs a helping hand,” she said. The pumpkins were then turned into soup for lunch before an afternoon of activities with the kids in the SAY program.
Pathfinders Pumpkin Run has delivered more than nine tonnes of pumpkins, fed thousands of meals to people in need and showed young people in their programs the nature of generosity in giving back.
