Both teams played Port FC last weekend in the penultimate round of the regular season, with first grade running out 7-1 winners and reserves victorious 5-0.
However, first grade needed to win by a margin of eight goals to leapfrog into fifth position, meaning they were an agonising two goals short of semi-final football.
“It's always disappointing when you miss out on semis, but we can’t blame it on that final game,” first grade coach Darren Morn said.
Reserve grade, who finished third under the tutelage of coach Colin Willis, will now play Tuncurry at Tuncurry this weekend.
They’ll look to central defender Adric Bobbin to lead the way after a strong performance last week.
The last time the two sides clashed four weeks ago, the Rangers ran out 4-0 winners.
