With Macleay Valley Rangers first grade failing to make the semi finals the hopes of the club turned to the reserve grade squad as they traveled to Tuncurry in their first semi final. Veteran midfielder Darren Morn starred with a stellar hat trick that could have easily been four except for the crossbar.

A strong midfield performance led by Morn saw Rangers able to hold a 2-1 lead into half time.
The second half saw the tussle continue with no team able to gain any useful possession. Morn stepped up and made no mistake from a penalty spot to complete his hat trick.
From this point Rangers looked comfortable with Justin Crockford continuing his scoring ways when Morn found space a slipped a tidy through ball for Crockford to finish.
