The conference, to be held in association with the 15th Kempsey Speciosum Spectacular, has the potential to bring “thousands” of people to town, according to event organiser Winsome Walmsley.
“All the clubs and pubs are already booked out,” Winsome said, agreeing that the event would be an economic boost for Kempsey.
With four marquees already set up at the Greenhill Dirt Bike Track, Winsome said “it’s going to be bigger than it ever has been”.
Winsome was anticipating visitors to not only travel from interstate, but also abroad.
“We’ve had people travel over from New Zealand before,” she said.
Attendants will be hoping for a run of good weather, with warm conditions crucial to the appearance of the orchids.
The event will kick off Friday, September 2, with show judging from 8.30am to 12.30pm, with the official opening at 12.45pm.
The show will be open to the public from 1pm to 5pm Friday.
Vendors from around the state will also be present and displaying their wares.
The show will open from 9 to 5 on Saturday, with speakers throughout the day and a presentation dinner at 6pm.
On Sunday September 4 the show will run from 9am to 1pm. For a registration form, schedule and further information, visit www.8thanosconference.org.au
