There were over 600 schools from 25 different regions that competed across the state to earn a spot at the finals.
The Rocks Public School were part of the 16th Legends Shield, which is one of the marquee events on the NRL Game Development calendar.
The boys should be extremely proud of their efforts, as they displayed great urgency and enthusiasm in all games showing great determination.
The most pleasing aspect was that the boys played for each other and were outstanding representatives of their school and the Macleay Valley region.
Unfortunately, the team narrowly missed out on the semi-finals, finishing in the top 10 teams of the state, which is an amazing effort.
The team played 5 pool matches in the cold, wet and windy conditions.
However, the weather did not worry the boys, as they eventually won 3 of their 5 matches, losing two games by only 1 try.
To reach the finals, the team won the Schubert 7’s Regional Final at Port Macquarie.
The team was undefeated in the tournament and beat Wauchope 1 in the final, 3 tries to 2.
The boys were lucky enough to meet numerous NRL players and past legends throughout the day.
