The truck show will begin with a street procession from South Street, South Kempsey through to the Kempsey Showground in West Kempsey.
Organiser Chris Slocombe said the event would be a fun day out for the whole family.
“We’ve got more trophy categories this year and also a few more events,” he said. “There will be tarp rolling and tyre rolling contests for men, women and children and also a truck pulling competition for teams. Even the kids can have a go at pulling little trucks.”
“There will be lots of things to entertain the kids – including sideshow rides, billy cart races and train rides.”
Mr Slocombe said the truckshow also would also include a gala dinner provided by the Kempsey Showground as well as live entertainment. A charity auction and trophy presentation will take place during the evening.
“Blake O’Connor from X-Factor is going to perform from 12 until four and maybe longer if everything’s going well,” Mr Slocombe said. “There will also be a bar serving alcohol, raffles, market stalls and plenty of food and drink.”
Mr Slocombe said proceeds from the truck show would go to the variety of local charities and groups who were organised to help out at the event.
“Proceeds will go to the Freddo P&C, Hat head Surf Club and the local navel cadets,” he said. “We’ve also helped out the royal fire brigade in the past.”
Dinner tickets for $40 must be pre-purchased at Haywood’s Bulk Transport, South Street.
