Lachlan Richardson is the highest ranked Australian bull rider in the world.
At 24, Lachlan Richardson has made a name for himself in the world of professional bull riders, where he is ranked No.17, competing for big prizes in front of huge crowds at venues such as New York's Madison Square Garden.
Growing up on the family farm, brothers Lachlan and Cliff have been riding bulls for 14 years, following in the footsteps of their uncle, and turning professional when they turned 18.
Lachlan has been travelling to the United States for the past four years, spending much of the year chasing prize money that can be as high as $34,000 for a win in televised arena events.
All he has to do is stay atop a raging bull for eight seconds and hope his competitors will fall off.
"There's a lot of money they've got there," he said. He had one major win in his first year and has been returning every year since, earning more than $47,000 this season.

It's a young man's sport and he's riding hard while he can. He says he's been pretty lucky with injuries, with the worst being a broken hand.
“When I look back, I couldn’t ride nothin’ when I started, but we all loved it enough to build it into something,” Lachie said.
“It’s not for muck around anymore , it’s a career.”
"There's a few guys that go until they're 40 but there's not many past 35. A lot pull up at 30, it depends on your family life." he says.
"The day I finish riding bulls I'll be back home on the family farm. I want to do good enough there so I can buy a farm of my own."
