Emma Buckley, Michael Stevenson, Martin Bennie and Andrew Kirby competed in the Ironman 70.3 World Championship Qualifying race which involves completing an incredible 1.9km swim, 90km bike ride and 20.1km run.
Buckley finished the race in 5 hours and 38 minutes which put her in 10th spot in her 30-34 age group.
“It was such a great achievement to cross the finish line. I felt mentally strong throughout all three legs and maintained my pace,” Buckley said.
She had began specifically training for the event over the past four months.
Bennie has been training for 12 months and with the support of family and his VO2 performance coach, Michael Maher he was able to complete the course in a personal best time of 6 hours and 17 minutes.
