January 26 is Australia Day.
It’s time to celebrate the beautiful country we all are lucky enough to call our home.
On Australia Day, we all come together as a nation to celebrate what is great about Australia and being Australian.
It's the day to reflect on what we have achieved and what we can be proud of in our great nation.
For us to truely appreciate what we have, as a successful and thriving nation and to further endeavour to make Australia an even better place for us all in the future.
Many spend the public holiday relaxing with family and friends enjoying a barbecue or picnic. There are plenty of activities in the local area, so head out with your family for some fun.
On January 25, join the community as we celebrate the Australia Day Awards at the Slim Dusty Centre located in South Kempsey.
Citizen’s are recognised for their contribution to the community and we also welcome our newest citizens. The awards will start at 5:30pm.
On January 26, enjoy a free barbecue breakfast with family, friends and the local community.

Come along and secure yourself a spot on the foreshore to watch the historic vessels sail past, dragon boaters and outriggers compete in races and other aquatic activities from 10.30am along the beautiful Hastings River.
Wherever you decide to celebrate this great day, remember to slip, slop, slap and always watch the kids around the water.
